Why do creativity & procrastination always seem to go hand in hand? Take for instance the fact that I should be drawing the Space Needle, Mount Rainier, and a pair of Orca's this very moment.....
Not to mention finishing my poor salmon so he can get back in the water where he belongs!
He's not very thrilled that I placed him on the bench in the foyer and left him there all day...think I'd better work on him first!
I do have one completely completed project, well two actually. First is the Tulip Fields which were finished about a week ago...that was a huge relief...especially since they weren't even on the camp menu, just a whim I had when I realized I didn't have it in me to attempt making a Totem Pole...I'm saving that project for another day, or month....you just have to be in the right mood to carve a Totem!
The beautiful painting above is the other finished project we'll be attempting to create at camp...well, one very similar to it anyway...ours will be including a seagull and the Olympic Mountains though instead of Mt. Rainier...he's going somewhere else!
The painting was done by my sis-in-law's father who is a wonderful artist, and I'm so honored that she allowed me to borrow it for the camps! I can't wait for the kids to see it...and I really can't wait to see their interpretations of it! How I'm ever to give it back is a mystery!
Well thank you so much my kindred peeps, for helping me to creatively procrastinate just a wee bit longer, you've helped tremendously...I feel much more ready to doodle now!!
Wish me luck...
