So the men switch places. Antoine Triplett become the personal assistant for Phil Coulson (played by Clark Gregg) while Grant Ward become personal assistant for John Garrett. And after much searching, Phil Coulson and Antoine Triplett finally find John Garrett's Fortress.
Grant Ward is also a womanizer sleeping with both Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen and Skye (played by Chloe Bennet. Both women storm the fortress. Grant Ward gets dumped by both women when they realize he's a womanizing jerk. Grant Ward fights against Melinda May in a fight that includes (But not limited to) nail guns. Grant Ward is defeated, his voice box crushed arrested and sentenced to death row for treason and being a womanizing jerk.
Grant Ward doesn't want to murder Skye, but her attitude is forcing Grant to become a girl punching, girl hating serial killing maniac against his wishes---AND IT'S ALL SKYE'S FAULT BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE RIGHT ATTITUDE WHEN INTERACTING WITH HYDRA AGENT GRANT WARD

Jemma Simmons (played by Elizabeth Henstridge) and Leo Fitz (played by Iain De Caestecker) snuck aboard Agent Coulson's airplane headquarters (Which never needs gasoline to stay in flight for literally months at a time) which was stolen by John Garret and Grant Ward. They hide in the med lab only to have John Garrett and Grant Ward heartlessly dump the med lab underwater below the surface of the deepest ocean. Pretend science is used to free the two and are rescued by Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson), but with a price. Leo Fitz may be brain damaged forever. He risked certain death to prevent Jemma Simmons from drowning. McGuffin comic book science only allows one gender to survive underwater entrapment with the mind completely intact and Leo Fitz decided to spare the female gender at the expense of his survival. Well, it's Jemma Simmons fault when you look at it. If Jemma Simmons said yes when Grant Ward asked her out, he wouldn't need to indirectly lobotomize Leo Fitz like this. This is necessary so that Leo Fitz won't get in the way if Grant Ward asks out Jemma Simmons a second time (BECAUSE JEMMA WILL BE SINGLE AGAIN THE NEXT TIME GRANT WARD ASKS HER OUT ON A DATE).
The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode Beginning of the End is the only time in the first season of the television show series that two male leads are present instead of just one male lead. Agent Phil Coulson joins forces with Nick Fury.
Mike Peterson aka Deathlok (Played by J. August Richards (The comic book version of the African-American super-hero/villain character was named Michael Collins)) originally worked for John Garrett until his son was rescued from being kidnapped by John Garret (Thus explains Deathlok's employment by Hydra and John Garrett becoming addicted to Deathlok cyborg technology) by Melinda May and Skye. Comic book Michael Collins aka Deathlok was married with children while television show Mike Peterson aka Michael Collins aka Deathlok was an unmarried single father.
One story had the evil repulsive Peter Parker aka Spiderman punished for the crimes of trying to save evil woman who refuse to date Colonel Luther Manning aka Deathlok from being killed for their horrible insensitive rejections. Spiderman's punishment was to be sent to the year 1990 where he witnessed Commie Russia invading and nuking the United States of America into a third world toilet. Colonel Luther Manning did nothing to save the United States of America because it was always destined to be invaded and destroyed exactly on January 1, 1990 without exception. Historical destiny can't be avoided just like all girls who refuse to date Colonel Luther Manning aka Deathlok must die as punishment for their rejection of his advances.
But we're getting sidetracked by Colonel Luther Manning---The Caucasian version of Deathlok instead of Michael Collins---The African-American version of Deathlok.
Mike Peterson aka Michael Collins aka Deathlok afflicts the first death upon John Garrett. John Garrett survives by completely surrenders to the Deathlok cyborg technology between his first death and his second death to such a degree, that his grip on humanity becomes more remote than previously. Agent Coulson afflicts death #2 upon the cyborg villain.
Billy Koenig returns back to life and may end up joining the series after all. The very last scene strongly suggest that Grant Ward's mind has snapped into permanent insanity as he's locked up on death row while writing the same nonsense gibberish that the late John Garrett wrote earlier that same episode. Cue creepy sounding music while Grant Ward scribbles gibberish nonstop without any comprehension as to how or why (And forever destroying any notion that he was ever qualified to work for S.H.I.E.L.D. at all in the first place because that last scene was so scary horror film looking). Nobody knows the reason for the gibberish scratches etched on the prison cell wall. And that's how the first season of Marvel's Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. ends. And with the D.C. Comics television series about Green Arrow entitled Arrow being joined by brand new D.C. Comic book television show series Constantine, I Zombie, the Flash and Gotham (About Batman as an elementary school child), Marvel Comics attempt at television show series programming needs to be elevated a few notches. So the only comic book television series not based on a comic book series entitled Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is being joined by Marvel's Agent Carter---A television series about Steve Rogers aka Captain America's ex-girlfriend (Still stuck in 1946) Peggy Carter (played by Hayley Atwell) learns to cope as a super-hero in a time zone where most of Marvel Comics super-heroes hasn't even been born yet. And Hayley Atwell shows up at the San Diego Comic Book Convention to promote Marvel's Agent Carter.
