Women's art show displayed at YWCA

YOUNGSTOWN

YWCA Youngstown's 35th annual exhibition of Women Artists: A Celebration is open through July 28. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. daily (closed Mondays). It will be open until 7 p.m. Friday, July 20 and July 27. The YWCA is at 25 W. Rayen Ave.

The juror for this year's show is Margo Miller, chairwoman of the art department at the University of Mount Union. The show features 130 works by 82 artists.

Little Steel girls in roller derby bout

Rollin' for Recovery, the second annual Little Steel Derby Girls charity bout, will take place July 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Youngstown Skate, 7080 Tiffany Blvd. The Little Steel girls will take on the Rebel Rollers from Reynoldsville in a roller derby match.

Tickets are $10 ($5 for children 12 and under) and are available in advance at lsdgcharitybout.brownpapertickets.com and at the door. A percentage of proceeds will benefit Animal Charity of Ohio as well as helping people in recovery from addiction.

Rock singer Donnie Iris will sing the National Anthem, and there will be a raffle, basket auction and an interactive half time show that the audience can participate in.

The event, presented by the Boom Boom Mancini Foundation, will wrap up with an after-party at Primanti's on South Avenue.

'Boogie Woogie' dinner shows

COLUMBIANA

The musical revue, "Boogie Woogie Baby," a tribute to the Andrews Sisters presented by Floriano Productions of Cleveland, will take place July 14 at noon and 7 p.m. at Dutch Village Inn, 150 E. state Route 14.

Both performances include buffet meal. The evening show menu includes carved ham, swiss steak and lemon-pepper chicken with spinach and wild rice, while the matinee comes with a four-course plated luncheon.

Overnight packages are available that include a continental breakfast the next morning.

The Andrews Sisters were among the most popular acts in the 1940s, with hits that include "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "Rum and Coca Cola" and "Chattanooga Choo-Choo."
