An Etsy shop is selling black GOTH Crocs with studs, spikes, and chains for $260 - Daily Mail Posted: 01 Apr 2019 12:00 AM PDT Crocs may be one of the most divisive shoe styles to ever exist — but one thing fans and critics alike can probably agree on is that the rubber slip-on shoes are far from punk rock-approved. But as it turns out, they can be, with the addition of some spikes studs, and chains, as one New York-based designer has proven. Instagrammers Chris Snyder (@garbage_b0y) and Paul (@lhommeboy) have created what they call 'Goth Crocs,' and the edgy black shoes have inspired some very vocal reactions on social media. Well that's certainly something! 'Goth Crocs' are now being sold online Made-to-order: The designs come from Instagrammers Chris Snyder (@garbage_b0y) and Paul (@lhommeboy), and they're not in collaboration with Crocs Pricey! They are decorated with studs, spikes, and a chain and sell for $60 a pair Where to buy them: They were made as a companion for a song by Chris and are now being sold on Etsy by the store HeavyCreamStore The Goth Crocs are currently being sold on Etsy by the store HeavyCreamStore in Seattle. Though the store says it is not associated with the brand, Chris and Paul buy black Crocs and decorate them with studs, dangerous-looking spikes, and a hanging chain. They sell for $260 a pair, or $240 without the chain, and are made to order. 'Punk spike crocs to make your feet into the final form rare Pokémon they were meant to be,' reads the description. Chris told DailyMail.com that they originally made them as a companion piece to a song he made, and are excited about the ensuing social media attention. In fact, they've had so much positive feedback that rapper Lil Tracy has already worn a pair, and 'high-profile stylists' are inquiring about them, too. Say what? Social media users have been commenting on the unexpected design Yikes! Some people are seriously triggered by the confusing mash-up You do you! Others simply find the surprising shoes funny and interesting People are shocked that someone came up with such a concep That's a strange fetish... Some seem to find the Crocs quite sexy Buy now! A few people seem really excited and have expressed an interest in buying them Unsurprisingly, the shoes have also caught the attention of social media users, hitting a nerve with some. 'The only thing that's upset me more than the phenomenon that is "goth crocs" is the fact that no one has f***ing called it 'punk-croc' yet,' wrote one. 'Goth Crocs — For the fashionably suicidal,' wrote another. Others simply found them funny, with one writing, 'I'm not exaggerating when I say these are the hardest shoes I've ever seen.' And a few seemed excited about the design and expressed an interest in buying them. Woah! Earlier this year, Crocs teamed up with Los Angeles-based label PizzaSlime to create a bag designed to look like the shoe Process: PizzaSlime spent months designing the accessory, which comes in yellow and black This is hardly the only Crocs collaboration that has sent tongues wagging, though most other headline-makers in the past have been designed in cooperation with the company, Earlier this year, Crocs teamed up with Los Angeles based label PizzaSlime, which debuted a handbag made of a single yellow or black shoe dangling from a strap. It sold online for $300 but has already sold out. Last June, New York-based streetwear brand Alife made a pair of Sport Crocs with an attached tube sock for $140. Sold on the Alife website and in-store at Alife Rivington Club in New York starting June 14 for $140, the Sport Croc pays homage to socks and sandals style frequently seen throughout New York neighborhoods. Unique: Another brand called Alife collaborated with Crocs to produce the rubber shoe with built-in socks in 2018 Dedicated: The Sport Croc pays homage to socks and sandals style Back at it: In October 2017, Balenciaga debuted platform Crocs during Paris Fashion Week Alife founder Rob Cristofaro told High Snobiety: 'This style was born from part fashion trend, part hood reality, and the want of touching upon my youth.' 'The tube sock was a staple for me while growing up in New York in the 1970s. In the boroughs of New York, you would see kids rocking socks with the adidas slides. The concept was really to take something as next-level as a Croc, and mix it with these elements.' And in October of 2017, Balenciaga debuted platform Crocs during Paris Fashion Week. Despite the shoes outlandish appearance, once the $850 footwear was made available for pre-sale on the Barney's website in early February, they sold out in a matter of hours.
